From cash back app to IPO darling: storytelling that powered a rewards revolution.
ConsumerBicycle Health is addressing the country’s most severe public health crisis by providing access to affordable, convenient, and confidential treatment for individuals in need and helping to reduce stigmas associated with opioid use disorder (OUD).
When we began work, Bicycle Health wasn’t just another small player in the ever-growing telehealth space — they were carving out a category that didn’t exist yet: tele-OUD treatment. Coupled with the pervasive stigmas that shape the way our society, policymakers, and media think about people with OUD, they had their work cut out for them. Through our collaboration, we’ve been able to shine a light on the impact tele-OUD treatment can play in an ever-worsening opioid epidemic, position Bicycle Health as this industry’s unequivocal leader, and begin peeling back the stigma to reveal the true faces of OUD. It's now easier than ever for the millions of people struggling and in need to find Bicycle Health, as they've grown to be the nation’s largest and leading clinically proven virtual OUD treatment provider.
After telehealth access was revoked in Alabama, Bicycle Health executed an initiative called “Alabama Airdrop” which sent doctors to the state to ensure patients were still able to access treatment. Our team leveraged this as a moment to begin building in-roads with health policy reporters nationwide, outline our POV on what smart OUD treatment policy should look like, and highlight the commitment Bicycle Health has for its patients.
Securing the 2022 TIME100 Most Influential Companies award marked the next phase of our work with Bicycle Health. By leveraging the success of our program and the company’s continued momentum we were able to secure this win, which acted both as a capstone for our first phase of awareness building and as a signal of what was next for the company. Following this recognition, our media relations kicked into high gear as we built a steadier cadence of trade mentions and began strengthening relationships with more mainstream publications. This also paved the way for future innovation recognition and awards.
