ConsumerIn May 2021, we launched Waabi out of stealth, generating global headlines for the new self-driving truck venture from AI luminary Raquel Urtasun. Despite being industry newcomers, Waabi’s unique simulation-centric approach and breakthrough technology enabled us to position the company as an industry leader.
Since launch, we’ve partnered closely with Waabi to distill highly technical narratives into accessible and exciting storytelling opportunities. To launch the company's closed-loop simulator (Waabi World) and virtual driver product (the Waabi Driver), we paired high-impact video content with top-tier media to bring the stories to life, yielding extensive coverage and driving significant inbound interest.
CEO and Founder Raquel Urtasun is one of the world's leading minds in self-driving technology and AI with extensive credentials: former head of research at Uber’s autonomous vehicles division, a longstanding professor at the University of Toronto and a founder of The Vector Institute, a global hub for AI. Leaning on her vast expertise and credibility, we strategically leveraged Urtasun as a resource for the press during the company launch and subsequent highly technical announcements.
Waabi’s Series B was a unique opportunity to recast the company’s story beyond autonomous trucking. We led communications strategy and storybuilding for this announcement, framing Waabi as a pioneer of generative AI in the physical world. Engaging with key investors, partners, and journalists, we executed on a tremendously successful announcement that resulted in a durable narrative to support the company’s future growth, hundreds of highly visible media stories, widespread recognition across the industry, and a keynote speaking opportunity for Waabi’s CEO at Collision Conference.
